Every year our school hosts a father daughter dance where the girl dresses up in nice clothes, and the dads wear suits. There is a DJ, and everybody dances! It was really fun!

| This is my dad and I at the dance! The dance is three hours, (7:00-10:00pm) so girls and dads get hungry. There is a gorgeous snack bar right out of the room. There is hot chocolate ( coco ),
twizzlers, and doughnuts. And of course, water. Usually, the dads talk outside, while the girls go on stage and dance and sing with the DJ. But when it comes to Father Daughter dances, the girls dance with their dad, not their friends.

For " Thriller " by Micheal Jackson, the DJ made up a dance. All of the girls joined in, and some dads even!

My mom made my dad take the camera and take lots of pictures. Every once in a while, my dad would make my friends and I take a picture. We ended up having a lot of pictures of my friends!

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your post on the Father Daughter Dance. I have never gone to the Father Daughter Dance. What kind of music did they play there? Did your dad like the dance? I can never get my dad to come, and since there are three girlswe would just be sitting around while my dad takes turns dancing with all of us. I hope you will visit my blog and leave me a comment!

DeleteThank you for leaving a comment! They usually play the latest songs like Dynamite, or Born This Way was played a lot. There was a lot of dancy music. My dad loves the dance. His favorite part was dancing with me on the Father Daughter Dance. ( There actually is a dance called The Father Daughter Dance were you dance with your dad).
I understand. You have two other girl siblings. Most of the girls that have siblings, they either sit down on a chair and wait for their turn, or the dad holds one with one girl, and the other hand with the other girl. I have never tried that because I don't have a girl sibling, I have a boy sibling.

If I had a daughter and could escort her to father/daughter dance, I would be so proud to be with her as I am certain your dad was proud to escort you. From your posted photos, I can see you and your dad had fun.

ReplyDeleteAnother great post! It looks like you girls had a great time at the dance. I like that you dressed up and made your hair beautiful for this special occasion. When I was little, I used to dress up in a long fancy skirt and twirl around with my dad at home (we didn't have such events at our school).
I am glad that your mom made you take photos, that way you will be able to look back fondly and remember the good time you spent with dad.

DeleteThank you for leaving me a comment! I did have an amazing time at the dance. It is a very special occasion. It is one of my favorite days of the year! My favorite part was getting dressed and doing my hair. On really special occasions like this one, my mom curls my hair like Sherley Temple. I curl my hair on my birthday.
At school, or anything I make or draw, my mom makes me put the year and date and puts it in a cabinet full of things that I drew. So when I am twenty, I can look back and see what I did when I was in 3rd grade. And she keeps pictures and videos so I knew what I looked like at 8 years old.
